Hello everyone,
I am back here today with another High End vs High Street post. This time I am comparing two different highlight-blusher in one products (shimmer bricks).
Personally, after waking up at 6am the last thing I want to be doing is spending a long time on my makeup. Which is why when I see one product that does two things- I get quite excited, glow and rosy-ness? Yes Please!
I am all about that fresh and glowy kind of look, to be honest I think everyone is at the moment. However often I find myself staring at a hefty price tag thinking should I/shouldn't I, often I end up buying the product, and then finding a very similar product for less than 1/4 of the price in a local drugstore like Superdrug. Although I don't necessarily regret my high end purchases because they will be used and loved, however in future I want to ensure that I get info on all the dupes available because really, who doesn't want to save some money?
Now let me just start of with saying the prices. The Collection "gorgeous glow" can be purchased for under £5. The Bobbi Brown shimmer brick comes to £35. Yes. £30 more for virtually the same product.
Here they are:

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick |
At first glance they both look pretty similar. A variety of pinky/shimmery shades with gold shimmer. The main difference is that the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick is more bronzey looking whereas the Collection one is mainly pink.
Clearly, the packaging on the Bobbi Brown brick is sturdy, it looks expensive, if feels heavy and expensive, it looks very simple and has a handy mirror.
The Collection glow is much more basic packaging wise, it feels like it could break very easily and it does look cheaper.
But...its the product that counts, right?
Heres a swatch comparison (one even swipe of each one):

Can you guess which one is which? They both look shimmery, they are both pigmented and they are both very easy to apply.
The left is the Collection 'brick' and the right is the Bobbi Brown.
Now again, clearly the Bobbi Brown product is more bronze and the Collection one is more of a blush colour. However they are both available in more than one shade so other shades may compare differently.
In my opinion, I don't think the Bobbi Brown one looks any better than the Collection one: in terms of swatch/application and longevity. However in terms of packaging this Bobbi Brown one does feel and look more aesthetic.
Personally, I will be sticker to the Collection Gorgeous Glow in future, simply because of the amazing price!
Let me know which one you love or if you have any better recommendations!
